I am glad to see Carendt’s work is being carried on into the future.

I like the colorscheme. But without javascript NOTHING works. With adblocker, NOTHING works. Why does a page like this even need javascript???

I like it. A lot of other model railroad forums have met the end of the line. I hope this one thrives.

It’s been a while since I visited the site and I like the new look and layout. I hope you have the opportunity to get the pages renewing regularly.

    Good luck!

Hope I don’t spoil it, but … I don’t really like the new site.

Colour scheme is ok, but lots of things annoy me:

    • It used to be possible to go from a schrapbook page to the previous/next page, thereby Browsing through the whole book – that doesn’t seem to be the case anymore.
    • Micro layout gallery is all mixed up. Particularly annoying if there are 2 pages for a single theme (i.e. sector plates) and the links are nowhere near each other
    • Micro layout gallery used to have a list with all layouts, providing direct access to the pages they were on…

That’s pretty much it, without adding to previous complaints (e.g. load times).

This site is still an invaluable ressource, so any work on it is greatly appreciated. But please, do make it a bit more user friendly.

    Cheers,

The new site is fine. Maybe I am misremembering, but for all the complaints about this one being not user friendly, the old one was not either (at least for me).

The one thing, as mentioned previously, that would be helpful would be the ability to pass between design gallery categories by simply having a link to the next and previous category at the bottom of the page.

As a younger modeller who sometimes feels fed up by the American model railroading community’s seeming inability to embrace the small, micro, or portable approaches to layouts, this website is fantastic, regardless of its faults. This website serves that purpose to the fullest extent, of course more trackplans/finished layout/images would be lovely, but it already is an amazing resource. Please keep up the good work!

Under ARTICLES if you click on Secrets of Designing Micro Layouts you get a heading that is white on a dark blue background and text that is black and unreadable?

What about the updates? The last scrapbook is from 2017 🙁
